Knight in Shining Armour

I always wanted a suit of armour to stand in the corner or have in the hall like you see in castles. Most of the time, they have been shiny with that polished steel look. Of course that may only be in Scooby Doo that they look that way.

I’ve had a pity party for my spiritual armour that I wear. Somebody does something, says something and it puts a ding in the armour that I have protected and cared for. How dare they mess up the shiny suit. In truth, the armour is for battle. Why do I sit around polishing when there is something in need of taking back or gaining. It should be the case that the more dings the better. So the next time that the pity party about the shine being dulled on the old suit from an insider, consider it battle training. You’ll end up being the better for it when the real enemy comes to knock you off your horse.

When the NBC program “Heroes” came out I got to see the first 2 episodes and then life happened and I haven’t had a chance to stick with the phenomenon. I was thinking of the special abilities that these Heroes have. I suppose that they’re not all good benefits but none the less, supernatural.

I’ve always wanted to have some type of supernatural abiblity, trait, essence. What would it be like? It would be like ….maybe Peter in Acts 5 when his shadow passed over and healed. How cool would that be? The atmosphere around you being charged with His glory and oozing out and supernaturally rearranging another’s.

To walk into a place and the atmosphere change. I already picture this happening. You walk into the crowded mall and the glory that is on you affects those you even move by. People feeling better for some reason. Evil kicking and moving from around you. The outcast, the lonely, the hurting, feel and breathe in the life-changing freshness as Holy Spirit works from within reach of where you walk. Addictions broken, bad habits uninhabited – all because you went to get a new shirt.

To be a catalyst for miracles. I picture this happening. You hold hands with someone in prayer and like lightning, the power flows to those connected, traveling into each situation a bringing the dead, dying and weak bulb back to life. The bulb of life, connected back to a power source. A jump start that charges the life back in.

It could happen. It can happen. It will happen. God use me.

$4 a mile

It’s been a busy time as usual. Blogs continually run through my mind when I’m not at the house. Thought I would throw in a quick word tonight.

My drive to Lakeland from the house is 52ish miles. Gas is a continual draw on our funds but now a new expense has come in to play. I have 2 Starbucks that I choose from when I’m feeling the urge to latte up. Oh who I am I kidding – I always feel the urge. To the drive a little – no a lot, more interesting they have added a Starbucks at the little over half way point. It is a drive through. It is open 24 HOURS A DAY. To make matters wor…..better. They are building a Starbucks less than 1/4 mile from the house. A couple more construction permits and I will be paying $4 a mile to get to work. It is getting latte and I have to get my beauty sleep as we head in to the jam packed weekend. Work, Sharla hosting a booth at a fall festival, I set up for Great Gatherings (Croptoberfest), Sat. I video a cross country race at the church, Great Gatherings goes all day. Sunday is Supersunday with Tampa/Lakeland together with Pastor Scott and CeCe Winans. Whew – Done

4 corners

Just wanted to weigh in on laundry. I really dislike folding fitted sheets. There ought to be a better way to make these things cooperate. I guess as long as it looks like a square at the end, all is well.

Then there’s the issue of the middle of the night release of one of the corners.
