A Fan

– Has all of team gear to wear, in their house, on their car, as their email name

– They will take time out of their weekend to spend several hours watching their team

– Some will travel great distances (weekly) to watch their team in person

– Some will shave their head, put team colors on their face

– At times they will brave the elements from heat, rain, snow, cold

– They will stand in line to be first to buy tickets to the event

– They will arrive several hours before the event to fellowship with other fans at tail gate parties

– If they can't get to the game, they gather at houses to cheer on the team

– Even shy, quiet people will raise their hands for a touchdown, slap high-fives with others around

– A whole section of the news is to report on the teams

– Newspapers report how teams are doing and do interviews with players and coaches

– People talk about the teams at work

What if we were of Fan of Jesus?

What if we applied that to church?

wicked whistling loop

In a hurry getting ready this morning when I thought I would announce a traveling act.  A literal symphony of sound.  How it formed?  The kids.  Not long ago I put the connection together between Pushing Daisies(tv program)  and Wicked (the broadway musical), Kristen Chenoweth.  So I let Savannah listen to some of the music from Wicked.  Savannah is always singing something.  Used to be High School Musical, of which the boys highly appreciated.  Savannah hooked on to the song "Popular."  She now sings all of the parts – continuously.  Layton on the other hand has been whistling for the last 2-3 years continuously.  You can always locate him.  This isn't the lips together whistle but the through the teeth kind of hidden to the onlooker kind of whistle.  Reminds me of the line in Madagascar 2 "I'm such a good whistler."  He doesn't say or think that but it just reminds me.  Then there is Skyler. Skyler seems to be the loop guy.  Make any noise, sound or sample and off he goes.  Over and over the loop of that sound goes.  Most of the time he doesn't even realize it.  This morning it came to me.  Put them all 3 together and we have the next "America has Talent" with the Wicked Whistling Loop.  See ya

typepad/wordpress

Thinking about changing to wordpress.  Although I could probably upgrade and be able to do more on typepad than I have thus far.  This is a more or less check to see if and how much of this post sends to fb. Peace

Wrinkled

Well if you don't follow by twitter or facebook, this morning started at break-neck speed.  I, the alarm keeper must have turned the volume down.  A normal day begins at 6am.  Today, 7am caused the family to move like the house was on fire.  With temps in the 40s, I gazed through blurry eyes at my selection of shirts.  Knowing time was short, I grabbed a shirt.  After being stacked in my winter pile at the top of my closet, this selected gem of a shirt was obviously wrinkled.  Sharla having to be out first still needed to get breakfast, so I skipped ironing and went on to stir up the takeawayfromhome sack (Steak n Shake reference) of eggs and strawberries.  Now on a normal day, I would run the iron over the shirt but not gonna happen on this day.  What would the common folk think if they saw me on the street with a wrinkled shirt?  Have I ever had thoughts after seeing someone else with a wrinkled shirt?  Did that person have a story of why a wrinkled shirt was being worn?  Who would look at me today with a judgmental eye but not ever know the story behind the wrinkle.  As we get older, the skin begins to show it's age with wrinkles of time.  What is the story behind the wrinkle?  You may have a wrinkle happen in, your, life, but the story has a good ending as God straightens things out with the hot steam from His iron of love, mercy, grace, forgiveness and more. Wrinkled.

It's the new year and I already find that it is hard to get in here and post.  I did happen to hit the blog and find that everything was not in it's place.  All is well, and if not, hit refresh.  You will find that down on the left under our pics there is an updated little diddy.  To follow my days more closely, sign up for a free Twitter account at Twitter.com.  I go by lindellaustin.  Easier way is to go to http://twitter.com/lindellaustin  and you will be directed to sign up and then you hit the follow button.  You will then be able to receive and see my thoughts and moves and doings on a more frequent basis.  Much easier to tap in on the phone and post.
